Accessibility Plan
Our School's Commitment to Accessibility
At our school, we are committed to ensuring that our environment and provision are fully accessible to everyone. Our Accessibility Plan is a key part of this commitment, outlining our strategic approach to continuously improve access for all pupils, staff, and visitors. The plan is driven by the core belief that all individuals, regardless of ability, should have equal opportunities to thrive within our school community.
The aims of our Accessibility Plan are divided into three key areas:
1. Improving Access to the Curriculum
We strive to ensure that all pupils, including those with disabilities, have full and equal access to our curriculum. This goes beyond the classroom, covering all aspects of school life, such as after-school clubs, extracurricular activities, and school trips. We provide specialist aids and equipment as needed to remove barriers to learning and ensure that every student can fully participate and be equally prepared for life.
2. Enhancing the Physical Environment
We are dedicated to improving the physical accessibility of our school's buildings and grounds. Our plan includes actions to enhance the physical environment, adding specialised facilities and adapting our premises as necessary to ensure smooth and safe movement for everyone. This involves ongoing assessments and improvements to make our school an inclusive space for all.
3. Enhancing the Delivery of Written Information
We work to improve how we deliver written information to pupils, staff, parents, and visitors who have disabilities. We understand that information, such as handouts, timetables, and school event details, must be available in various preferred formats to be truly accessible. Our goal is to provide this information in a timely and convenient manner, ensuring no one is excluded due to format barriers.
