Personal Development at Ramsey Manor Lower School
Vision Statement
At Ramsey Manor Lower School, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded, confident and curious children through a rich range of experiences both inside and beyond the classroom. We provide inclusive opportunities that support children to develop their interests, build resilience and become active, caring members of their community. Through a carefully planned curriculum, enrichment and strong focus on wellbeing, we aim to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and values they need for their future lives.
At Ramsey Manor Lower School, we pride ourselves on our outstanding commitment to personal development, which is exemplified by our wide array of enriching experiences meticulously planned to foster growth and talent in our students. We firmly believe that schools must provide pupils with access to a diverse and stimulating set of experiences, and our approach not only meets, but exceeds this expectation.
Our extracurricular program is designed to offer opportunities for students to explore and develop their talents and interests across various disciplines, including, but not limited to, science, computing, music, and physical education. We offer activities before school, during lunch breaks, and after school to ensure accessibility for all students. By tracking the uptake of these activities, we can effectively target individuals and ensure that all students have the opportunity to benefit from our offerings.
One of our key priorities is to ensure that disadvantaged students have equitable access to these opportunities. That's why we prioritise their participation in our extracurricular clubs, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to thrive.
Our enrichment opportunities are carefully mapped to complement and enhance learning across our curriculum, including subjects such as PE, History, Geography, Religious Education, and the promotion of Protected Characteristics. Additionally, we place a strong emphasis on the mental health and wellbeing of our students, integrating activities that promote self-care and resilience in order build character.
Beyond the classroom, we encourage our students to become active citizens in our community. Whether it's through supporting events like our Christmas Fayre and Summer Fayre, participating in local litter picks with our Eco-Council, or engaging with our local Church through performances and activities, our students are empowered to make a positive impact beyond the school gates.
Our commitment to personal development goes beyond mere rhetoric; it is ingrained in every aspect of our school culture. We believe that our approach not only sets a high standard for excellence but also serves as a model worth sharing with others who seek to cultivate the full potential of their students.
