Our library is the hub of our school and a very popular place with children and adults.

Having a well-organised and inviting school library is crucial for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning. In our library we provide:

1. A well organised selection of books: We categorise books by interest, subject, and reading level. This helps easily find books that interest them and are appropriate for their reading abilities.
2. Stock Selection: We ensure that the library has a diverse and extensive collection of books, including a wide range of fiction and non-fiction titles, picture books, graphic novels, poetry, and short page-turners. It's important to offer books that cater to different interests and reading levels.
3. Regular Refreshing of Stock: We keep the library collection fresh by regularly introducing new books and rotating older ones. Involving children in the process of selecting books has helped create a sense of ownership and engagement.
4. Display and Presentation: We make the books in the library visually appealing by presenting as many books as possible face-out. This allows children to see the cover, author, and title, which can capture their attention and spark interest. Additionally, we ensure that books are displayed at eye level for easy visibility.
5. Collaboration with Public Libraries: We encourage children and their families to utilise local public libraries as well. Public libraries offer a wider range of resources, access to book clubs, and various activities that support children's development as readers beyond school.
6. Lunchtime Library: The library is open every lunchtime, this time can be used for children to choose books, engage in book discussions, and participate in book clubs and quizzes. Creating a positive reading environment and providing opportunities for children to share their favourite books can foster a love for reading.
